I am a marquetry artist who uses wood as my primary medium of expression. In the past, I worked on the restoration of inlaid details in antique furniture. During my studies at the Faculty of Art (Art Education major) at the University of the National Education Commission in Kraków, as well as through artistic practice, I explored oil and acrylic painting, drawing, and watercolour — yet wood has always felt closest to me.
My art is a search for harmony — between precision and emotion. I focus mainly on simple geometry and abstraction, often with subtle elements of science fiction. I work with natural materials — solid wood as a base, various veneers, mother-of-pearl, silver, gold, traditional hide glue, and natural resin — to achieve a refined, noble finish.
In 2025, I presented my works in two exhibitions: a group exhibition at Anteros Arts Foundation in Norwich and a solo exhibition at the Polish Social and Cultural Association (POSK) in London. I am a member of a-n The Artists Information Company.
Beyond the world of art, I support people and the local community. I am a community advocate, volunteer, and co-founder as well as director of Norfolk Polonia CIC — an organisation supporting the Polish community in Norwich, which manages the West Earlham Community Centre. We help Poles living in Norfolk and Suffolk and cooperate with the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in London.
Before moving to the United Kingdom in 2015, I worked in non-governmental organisations, taught in schools, performed in semi-professional theatre productions, and created short films showcased at several Polish film festivals. I also coordinated youth projects funded by the European Union (2007–2013) and worked as a cultural animator.
I currently do not operate an online store, but I can share access to my online portfolio, which includes detailed information about the artworks currently available for sale. Below is a selection of photographs showcasing some of my marquetry works.
For any enquiries, please contact me at jelenski.art@gmail.com — I usually reply within a few days.
I always donate a percentage of the sales from my marquetry pictures to charitable causes, supporting people through time, effort and financial contributions to small, local community projects.
